How often must I replace my U.V lamp?
What is the difference between Chlorine and UV systems?
Chlorine creates an Oxidising and toxic burning effect to destroy
bacteria. UV systems use Physical destruction through U.V radiation and suffocates
the Viruses and bacteria without a Toxic effect.
Why use UV for sanitizing?
UV destroys the bacteria and Viruses without damaging your health,
destroying your lungs, and wrecking your pool. Chlorine - Salt is toxic and unhealthy
and can produce dangerous consequences.
What about operating costs?
Our UV systems can reduce your operating costs by as much as 94%
for Chlorine. It can reduce the requirement for P.H and Alkaline as well as your
replacement costs for pumps and filter sand, because the water is NOT corrosive
like a Salt or Chlorine pool.
Can I use the UV treated water for my garden?
Most certainly YES!!! There is no destruction of any plant life
with the use of UV treated water. This is not possible with Chlorine or Salt Pools.
Is the UV treated water also safe for animals?
Yes without any problems, in fact animals which drink Salt water
could be affected with a loss of lung capacity within 4 years. They love the salt
water but this is very dangerous for them, UV treated water is safer.
Does UV treatment destroy all the Bacteria and Viruses?
UV treatment can offer an almost 100% destruction of not only
of the Bacteria but also Viruses. This is not the case with Chlorine or Salt water
pools, many strains of bacteria are resistant to Chlorine and Chlorine is hopeless
against Viruses.
What about Algae?
With the placement of additional filters, UV systems are able
to destroy Algae in an extremely fast way! You can forget about algae problems
in your pool and pond.
What about hazy water?
U.V Radiation we burns away all the body fat that exists in the
water allowing you to swim without the effect of "Tear Gas" which is produced by
Chlorine based systems maintaining your water crystal clear.
Yes but Chlorine is still applied in the water?
This is true, however we only require a maximum of 0.4ppm to
0.5ppm (parts per million) in the water and that is to deal with the Ammonia
Bacteria's that comes from Urine this keeps the water at a "Drinking Water Quality"
and at that low residual it has no affect on your health whatsoever. Our requirement
for Chlorine oxidation is so low as to make it impossible to harm human contact or
the environment.
How often must I replace my U.V lamp?
This depends on the size of your pool. A normal 50,000 litre
pool will circulate for about 8 hours this will give you approx 18 months of burn
time for the lamp.
